Quite often, holidays can be an absolutely magical time.
But, unfortunately for many, the holidays can also be a very stressful time complete with guilt (“I should be spending more time with family”…), frustration (“Mum never stops complaining”…), stress (“I’m going to have so much work piled up”…) and more.
You get the idea ! So, whether you’re heading home for the holidays, hosting a few guests, or throwing a party…

Here are some survival tips to get you through the stressful occasion :

  • Let It Go: Remember, the only thing you can control is how YOU feel. When you experience a negative emotion brewing, take deep breaths and let anything that doesn’t serve you roll away, like water off a duck’s back.
  • Go With The Flow: We can go a little crazy during the holidays with so many people to please and plans to be made. If you can stop thinking and start allowing, this holiday will be your best yet. Easier said than done, I know, but give it a try.
  • Listen: Far too often we listen simply to reply, rather than to truly understand. At the holiday table, try to listen with compassion and an open mind. Chances are, you’ll see things very differently… and your family will feel extra significant.
  • Find Positive Friends: Friends are the family you choose. If you’re OD’ing on family time, take a breather by surrounding yourself with those who lift you up. It will make a world of difference.
  • Learn: Although we say we’re going to read more, study more, or learn the latest strategies and methods for growing our businesses, it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day and push these best intentions aside. Use the holiday downtime to fill your mind with amazing new ideas and ways of doing things.
  • Set Big Goals: Now’s the perfect time to start setting some powerful life and business goals. Remember, the best goals should scare you a little and excite you a lot.

There you have it. Keep these tips in mind, sit back with an egg nog or two and RELAX!!
